It's the 1st of March, so today we celebrate Baba Marta den! (Grandmother March day) In Bulgaria, we give martinitsa to friends, family, and co-workers as a symbol of health and happiness.
This week...
-The Bulgarian Orthodox church chose a new patriarch.
-I won 10 lev from a scratch off ticket.
-I went to the village house for the first time this year before heading to Hissar again.
-Martin and I got soaked walking around in the rain. (forgot to pack an umbrella, D'oh!)
-We tried to visit the Roman tomb in Hisarya again, but it was closed! This was our third attempt, so apparently we just aren't meant to see the inside of it.
Fittingly for the 1st of March, the sun is shining and there isn't a cloud in the sky. Spring is in the air... Hope you have a wonderful weekend!
